I was fortunate enough to have been raised in a sleepy little town along the Chesapeake Bay. I still live in that sleepy little town and though time has changed many things here, it is still a great place to live.
My siblings and I were blessed with the most wonderful and loving parents. I will tell you that we were truly fortunate in that area of our lives. We were raised, to be honest, love one another, work hard, live by the golden rule, and to have faith in God.
The Light of My Life
I have a son who is the light of my life, who at this stage does not realize this. (Did any of us understand this about our parents when we were in our twenties)? He is an amazing young man whom I love dearly.
I began early in my adult life as a school bus driver. My son was in school, and I thought, what better way to be home with him and not send him off to daycare. Drive a bus and he can ride with you to school. I am now working as a School Bus Driver Instructor. Never in a million years would I have thought that I would be involved in school transportation for almost 3 decades!
Once my son was in his early high school years, my plan was to focus on going back to school and starting another career. It just didn’t happen that way and there is a reason for that. My love for what I do! I have always enjoyed children and now as an instructor, I am just as enthusiastic about teaching others.
My reason for beginning this web page is to share with you, my passion for creating. Call me what you will (what I hear from others and I give to the glory of God)…artist, crafty, talented, creative, etc. I knit, crochet, rug hook (traditional not latch hook), paint, sew, draw, and more. I am just a girl who loves to create things that are fun, useful, silly, and even horrible at times.
Thrifting is another passion of mine. My friends and I love to go to thrift shopping. I will tell you that I love, love, love thrift shopping. We find some of the most amazing things in thrift shops. I love to save money, so you will be seeing many posts about that topic too.
My blog will not be perfect, simply because there is no such thing here on earth. What I share will be shown as is. I do not live in a home that looks like a magazine. The photos that I share are going to show my coffee cup sitting next to my projects, dust on my table, a cat or two, and I am sure my finger will be in a few as well (it never fails). Life is too short to worry about everything being perfect.
Hang around, you’ll never know what I’ll get into.
